Message from the President

Since its founding, Hamaya has been dedicated to transforming the world’s sense of “Mottainai” (a feeling of regret over wastefulness) into tangible value through our reuse and recycling business. Consider an item that is no longer useful to you. Simply throwing it away not only reflects wastefulness but may also contribute to negative environmental impacts. However, even if an item is no longer needed by one person, it may still hold value for someone else. By connecting those who no longer need certain items with those who do, we create new value. This has been the core of our value creation since the establishment of Hamaya.

In recent years, as the need for a circular society has become increasingly evident, the shift to a circular economy has become a matter of urgency. Yet, our world remains filled with reminders of “Mottainai.” For example, the issue of e-waste poses a significant social challenge. However, when viewed from a different perspective, e-waste represents a huge “Mottainai.” At Hamaya, we see e-waste as an “urban mine” and work to transform it into economic value while simultaneously addressing societal issues.

We aim to persistently turn countless instances of “Mottainai” into value. Ultimately, our goal is to eliminate the concept of “waste” entirely, contributing to a society where everything unnecessary is reimagined as a “useful resource.” This is the circular economy we strive to achieve.

As we navigate this period of transition, we are determined to become an indispensable company for society, dedicated to creating sustainable value and driving positive change.

We are committed to realizing the vision of a circular economy. During this transformative phase, we will continue to strive to become an essential company for society, dedicated to creating sustainable value and driving positive change.
